… in a nutshell….MegAnne Ford.

Let’s admit it.  We want our children to be kind.  We want our students to be kind.  It doesn’t seem hard in theory, but in practice it is sometimes more complicated than we bargained for.  Are you an administrator working towards cultivating kindness in your school?  Are you a parent, or know a parent, who is hoping to inspire kindness in children?  What if you know a family who is struggling with a child-rearing challenge?  Then you need to meet Life and Parent Coach, MegAnne Ford, and get to know her Be Kind Coaching and non-profit, Kind Club.

Be Kind Coaching and the Kind Club are MegAnne’s answer to the kindness and parenting questions so many folks are trying to answer.  If this is something that is challenging you or your school, MegAnne can probably help you solve the riddle.

As a former preschool teacher, MegAnne has seen a lot when it comes to parenting styles and has spent a tremendous amount of time working with kids — coaxing them when they are in an obstinate mood, raising the bar for them when they may not believe they are up to the task, leading, teaching, humoring….she knows what works effectively and what makes happy kids.  And isn’t that what we all want?  Happy kids?  Let’s be honest.  When the kids are happy, we are all pretty happy.

And I don’t mean the give them everything they want kind of happy — I mean the kind of happy that we know in our hearts we are teaching our kids the valuable, useful lessons that will make them good people down the road kind of happy.  MegAnne is a master at making this happen.  Her preschool and after-school classroom were the happy place in her school for both the kids and their parents.

Funny how it started….MegAnne had a new 3 year old student come into her class and for whatever reason, this child was a tough one — not nice to her peers and a challenge for her parents and teachers.   One of the other three year olds and her two friends began to teach the new child how to be nice, which led another parent to refer to the group as the “Kind Club.”

Today, MegAnne’s Kind Club is just that.  Through this club she helps children develop kindness towards each other while developing a sense of commitment to the community.  Their 3-pronged mantra in the club: Be kind to yourself, be kind to your family, be kind to your community.  Virtually everything we want for our kids can be poured into those three vessels.

The Kind Club for kids k-5 meets twice a month.  But it is also offered as enrichment in after school programming giving parents and teachers more options to take advantage of this forward thinking program.

Be Kind Coaching is MegAnne’s answer for parents who need guidance on child rearing challenges.  She has worked with many families, helping them guide their kids into better behavior, creating better home lives for everyone.  MegAnne uses the positive to get results which stems from her degree in psychology, her years of teaching and her certification as both a Life and Parent Coach.  This is what makes her a master relationship builder.

MegAnne structures her consulting work with families into 6 sessions over the course of 3 months.  The beautiful part?  The client decides where the meetings take place: home, work, coffee shop, whatever works.  After the sessions are over, never fear!  She offers support as needed.
